Completed actions:

Specific time:

En 1492, Colón llegó a América - In 1492, Columbus arrived in America
El lunes fui al médico - On Monday I went to the doctor
Anoche vi una película - Last night I watched a movie

Sequence of events:

Me levanté, desayuné y salí - I got up, had breakfast, and left
Llegó, abrió la puerta y entró - He arrived, opened the door, and entered
