Usos del Tiempo

The futuro simple is used to:

1. Express future actions or events
2. Make predictions about the future
3. Express probability or conjecture in the present
4. Make promises or commitments

Ejemplos

Future actions:

• Mañana iré al cine - Tomorrow I will go to the cinema
• El próximo año viajaremos a México - Next year we will travel to Mexico
• Estudiaré medicina - I will study medicine

Predictions:

• Lloverá mañana - It will rain tomorrow
• Tu equipo ganará - Your team will win
• Todo saldrá bien - Everything will turn out well

Probability (present):

• Serán las cinco - It must be five o’clock
• Juan estará en casa - Juan is probably at home
• Tendrá treinta años - He/She must be thirty years old

Promises:

• Te llamaré - I will call you
• No lo haré más - I won’t do it again
• Vendré a verte - I will come to see you

Conjugación Regular

All verbs use the infinitive + endings:

-AR verbs (hablar):

• Yo hablaré
• Tú hablarás
• Él/Ella/Usted hablará
• Nosotros/as hablaremos
• Vosotros/as hablaréis
• Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes hablarán

-ER verbs (comer):

• Yo comeré
• Tú comerás
• Él/Ella/Usted comerá
• Nosotros/as comeremos
• Vosotros/as comeréis
• Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes comerán

-IR verbs (vivir):

• Yo viviré
• Tú vivirás
• Él/Ella/Usted vivirá
• Nosotros/as viviremos
• Vosotros/as viviréis
• Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes vivirán

Verbos Irregulares

Decir (to say):

• Yo diré, tú dirás, él dirá, etc.

Hacer (to do):

• Yo haré, tú harás, él hará, etc.

Poder (can):

• Yo podré, tú podrás, él podrá, etc.

Poner (to put):

• Yo pondré, tú pondrás, él pondrá, etc.

Querer (to want):

• Yo querré, tú querrás, él querrá, etc.

Saber (to know):

• Yo sabré, tú sabrás, él sabrá, etc.

Salir (to leave):

• Yo saldré, tú saldrás, él saldrá, etc.

Tener (to have):

• Yo tendré, tú tendrás, él tendrá, etc.

Venir (to come):
